This is an exquisite antique American Brilliant Period cut glass pitcher covered with 16-point hobstars, strawberry diamonds, fans & zipper motifs, a 24-point sunburst on the bottom, and other motifs, all deeply and sharply cut with wonderful detail and intricate precision. The FRY signature trademark is imprinted on the thumb notch at the top of the handle (see photo attempt). H.C. Fry Glass Co. of Rochester, Pennsylvania, was in operation from 1901 through 1934 and produced lovely cut glass until approximately 1916. This cut glass pitcher, sometimes referred to as a 'tankard' or 'Flemish jug' is from the early 1900's! It is has a very elegant taper and stands 11.5" tall (5" at the base) - very tall and graceful. The glass is clear and brilliant. The cutting is well done and deep. Weighs a hefty 5lbs. 5 oz. And has a nice ring when tapped. Excellent condition with a few tiny flea bites on the inside of 3 or 4 saw teeth along the top - barely noticeable to the naked eye. I am not an expert, but I don't see anything else wrong with this fabulous piece! No reserve price - my start price IS the reserve!! This item is an estate sale piece - please check my other auctions for more wonderful items from this collection! (Don't mind my husband's car parts up for auction, too!! They are not as pretty as the things I list!) EXCELLENT read more
