A beautiful walnut gold gilt, and black ebonized picture frame dated circa 1870's. The frame consists of three layers connected using antique square nails. The outer layer constructed of walnut includes a carved decorative groove along the front perimeter of the layer. The next layer is a black ebonized color with carved eastlake detailing on all four sides. The last, innermost layer is gold gilt with a faded intricate design. The interior dimensions are approximately 8'' x 10''. The overall frame is approximately 13.5'' x 15.5'' and 3'' thick. There are s cattered scratches and dings. Chipping prevalent in all three layers. Crackling in the black ebonized layer. Refer to all images for condition.This frame is dated circa 1870's. It's perfect for Victorian, Eastlake, Edwardian, Traditional, Civil War art, antique prints, oil paintings and for late 1800's decors.
