This antique african mortar or cup may be ethiopian in origin. Has a sun cross on the forehead of the female figure. Interior of bowl shows signs of extensive use. I am estimating this piece to the 1800s. The sun cross is referenced to much earlier artifacts so this piece could be older. No cleaning or repairs have been made, an original piece in its original state.
