ANTIQUE AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE SLANT-LID DESK Connecticut River Valley, Second Half of the 18th Century In cherry with shell carving to lid. Stepped interior with central fan-carved drawer flanked by ten pigeonholes and five drawers. Four graduated full-width drawers with brass willow pulls. Original molded and carved bracket base. Height 32¼. Case width 36½". Depth 19". "Condition: Interior drawer probably a later addition. Split in lid. Patch at top left side. Dovetail broken out at top rear right side. Old repairs to feet facings. Replaced hardware. Refinished.
