I am pleased to offer this "Beautiful" Early 1900s ANTIQUE ART DECO Plate Glass Mirror ELEVATOR SIGN. It measures 14" long X 6" tall X 1/4" thick . NICE & HEAVY, it weighs almost 2 lbs! With a degree of craftsmanship not commonly found today, the word "ELEVATORS" and a directional ARROW are CUT DEEP into the backside of this unique PLATE GLASS SIGN. By design, a "frosted etched texturing" within the back of the graphics makes them appear OFF WHITE and "dimensional", against the reflective silvering of the mirrored background. The distinctive DECO STYLE LETTERS measure 1-3/4" tall and the directional ARROW is 8-3/4" long. Ancient residue from it's original wall mounting remains on the backside where the FINE QUALITY of the graphics is readily evident. With top corners rounded and bottom corners square, a ground glass "notch" was carefully positioned at each bottom corner to facilitate mounting hardware (see image). Remarkably , the SILVERING on this Antique MIRROR GLASS is PERFECT! ( PLEASE NOTE that my images seem to show a vertical "wood grain" pattern in the mirror. This is simply a REFLECTION from an adjacent PANELLED WALL). There is ONE chipped corner however, along with some faint scratches under the letter "A" and a couple of minor flakes along the bottom edge.
