Antique Art Deco Venetian Wedding Cake Lampwork Fiorato Art Glass Bead NecklaceUp for bids is this most amazing Antique Art Deco Venetian Wedding Cake Lampwork Fiorato Glass Bead Necklace. Measuring 30" in length and the large bead are 1/2" wide. These beautiful wedding cake lampwork beads are created with a copper wire to form the hole and winding hot colored glass around it to form a ball. This centuries old process is called lampwork. For fiorato the bead is then decorated with glitter, known as aventurine /copper filings which causes a gold like glint. The next decoration is applied which is glass squiggles, scrolling and loops and last the flowers which is pink rosebuds and forget-me-nots in dots of blue and white.This pair has an opaque dark red lampwork base with applied fiorato (the squiggles, aventurine, pink rosebuds and forget-me-nots). The fiorato is why they are called wedding cake beads with the scrolling glass like cake icing decoration. The larger beads have gold tone filigree caps on each end of the bead. The smaller dark red beads and dark bronze colored beads also have the gold tone filigree caps on each end. The clasp is a gold tone flower shape.
