NO RESERVE for a very handsome old Art Nouveau Ceramic Tile in a custom gilt frame. From a very exceptional Dallas estate, an extremely affluent woman who collected avidly. MARKINGS: Appears unmarked but it is certainly old European work based on the form and the aesthetics. Possibly marked on the reverse, but I chose not to disturb the beautiful custom framing job in order to check. AGE DISCUSSION: An old estate piece from an exceptional Dallas estate and I would date the tile to ca. 1900 - 1910 (very early 20th century; I don't think it is as late as the 1920s). The framing job is obviously much newer than the tile itself and the frame dates to 2001 according to a handwritten notation on the back. Guaranteed an old tile and please see my "no questions asked" return policy below. However, check out the pics and I really don't think you're going to want to give this back. CONDITION: Excellent condition, as shown. Does show light surface wear consistent with age, but absolutely nothing concerning. NO chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, dicolorations, disfiguring scratches, etc. Overall, the pics are very honest and show the condition well and it is in overall excellent condition, as shown, ready to hang on your wall.
