It is rare, rare indeed to discover a Mission Oak Arts & Crafts framed piece of art in untouched condition that has retained all those elements we are thrilled to find: The pattern and patina of the quarter sawn oak - Strong color retention of the print - and faultless structural integrity of the frame itself. Overall = 29" by 13" (This is no small piece!) Image = 20" by 8" T is no obvious place to begin or end when showing off this discovery, so let's just start with the frame. A 1/2" ebonized strip makes the border of the frame. Then, 3/8" ebonized strips define the image. It's a simple but striking design technique that I've not seen before. Then t's the 104-year-old photo print by James Arthur. It still has the most exciting color I've ever seen. (Most times they have faded and failed from a century of exposure to sunlight.)
