Antique Asian Oriental Relief Carved Arm Chair ORNATE Cabriole legs, claw feet, Elegant Silhouette!! Purchased in a recent European antique shipment, this listing is for a fabulous carved arm chair with absolutely exquisite carving details on every side and edge!! Although I am not an expert in Asian and Oriental designs, I was captivated by the details and construction of this magnificent chairâe¦âe¦note the RAISED carved design on the arms, the open carved arm supports, the detailed carved designs on the splat, both the front AND back (very unique, the backside of the chair is rarely carved). The wood seat also has a beveled edge with carving as well as an arched or scalloped edge below the seat with detailed carvings. The cabriole style legs have the same attention to details!! The finish is a rich, deep colour, with a bit of a mahogany hue. I am not positive as to the wood type, but it is solid wood, no wood board, and it is not a cheap new reproduction piece!! The chair is 40 3⁄4âeH x 21âe x 24âe appx; 18 3⁄4âe floor to wood seat top; 24âe width across front, arm edge to arm edge. All of my antiques are hand selected from European container shipments.
