You are looking at ONE Antique Aqua Glass Atlas E-Z Seal Fruit Jar from around 1875 . This jar is in excellent shape, with a few rough spots along the outside of the lip of the jar. The lid is missing but jar is in good shape. A collector's item from an age gone by, when processed food was unheard of and all canning and preserving was done at home. The canning jar is almost the only type of glass bottle sold empty. Other bottles of the period were sold with product in them and usually bear the label of the food, chemical or medicine. Canning jars bear the name of the glass jar maker. Jar is 9" tall to the rim and 5" in diameter at the base. The opening is 2.75" in diameter. Jar holds 2 Quarts. Jar is a little greener than it appears in the photographs. There are bubbles in the glass, quite common for the period. Comes from a smoke free home. You have to be kidding." Item weight is estimated at the time of listing, with a box which fits the item and allowances made for necessary packing materials. Wood, metal & ceramic items weigh more than paper and plastic. The post office determines the shipping cost by applying the correct rate from my location to yours. EBay requires insurance and tracking. These items are NOT free. Please, if you think shipping is too high, weigh something, add a box, lots of packaging, add insurance and tracking and then figure it from your location to California. (Remember that the Post Office rounds weights up. It your item is 1 lb 2 oz., you will pay for 2 pounds.) My handling fee covers tracking & insurance with a few cents extra for packing materials, which also are not free. I use recycled boxes to save money and our environment. Do Not Order, if you cannot afford the shipping. Please read the shipping estimate before bidding or complain to the post office. I cannot lower the shipping cost, as much as I would like to. I am not a business trying to disguise profits as costs by increasing shipping. What I charge goes to the Post Office. Please do not grade me down for shipping costs, which go to the post office or shipping time which is determined by the post office and your location.
