Antique Aviation Southeastern Air Show Airplane Trophy ~HUGE LARGE World War II era aviation Southeastern Air Show Trophy with airplane top from the personal collection of A.W. Stone, a former WWII pilot. This heavy, metal trophy was among a collection of trophies dating back to the early 1940's. The writing on this trophy is hard to read but it is marked, "Duval Jewelry Co. Trophy, Southeastern Air Show, Jacksonville, FLA." I believe this air show was held in 1946, the first air show held at Jacksonville Naval Air Station, sponsored by the National Aeronautic Association. The trophy manufacturer is Dodge, Inc, as marked underneath the base. Don't know if it is the same Dodge company that makes automobiles. I don't know the model of the airplane top, but its wingspan measures 8 1/4." This trophy, which would make an awesome display piece, is an impressive 23" high. T is some wear to the brass finish on the metal. Parts of the plane could possibly be solid brass. Please check my other listings for more aviation trophies from this man's collection. Payment must be made in U.S. funds via PayPal and initiated within 7 days of end of auction. Arrangements may also be made for local pickup. Will ship within 1-3 business days of receiving cleared payment, usually within 1 business day. Please let me know if you want expedited shipping. read more
