This is a very rare Batavus hand crank sewing machine made in the early 1900's in Holland. There are not many to be found as they started in the early 1900's making watches, sewing machines and bicycles. Of course shortly after opening, they dropped production of sewing machines and watches and made only bikes and mopeds. It is a very smooth precision machine. The original bentwood case shows some signs of its age but is still very solid and functional with the original key and really nice inlays on the top of the base. The machine was not heavily used as evidenced by the pictures. It comes with a couple of attachments and a few needles in the storage box. This is one for the collector who thought they had them all. I also think it would be a great machine to use. This item is sold as is due to being a vintage/antique item.
