I have for sale in lovely condition this nice example of The London-Handle Model Microscope by R & J Beck Ltd London, c. 1910-1911. It would seem that this microscope was supplied with two different surface finishes. This example has a Brass black coated finish with brass trim. The seriel number is 30836. It has 3 rotating objective lenses 2 of them being R & J Beck 16mm & 4mm and 1 is C Baker London 1/12 OIL 1mm. This model is designed so that the limb forms a strong handle, by which the instrument can be conveniently grasped without danger to the adjustments. It has what I believe is called an Abbe Condenser. It has the mirror which is concave on one side and plain on the other. It has 2 top eye pieces one being 25mm x 10 and the other 42mm x 6. The microscope looks to have been well looked after as the condition is lovely. It comes in the original box which is showing its age.
