*Made in 1918 this unique and very primitive lantern is marked Parkinson Manufactures, W. & B. Cowan. It has a removeable square box (brass) marked (Sherwoods LTD. B'ham.) for gas or kerosene, a wick with a candle holder next to it for lighting your way or warming food. The lid on top opens up to reveal the inside & the lid under that also opens to reveal the wick in the box.. It has a rolled metal loop which snaps tightly. It has four sheets of separate glass that is held in a square. All of the wire cage is in a round circle. T is a wooden green handle to carry it with. The lantern is 12 1/2" tall and 8" in diameter. It has one broken corner of glass you can see in the picture. This lantern has the look for all you primitive lovers. I have had lots of lanterns and this one has the patina and just the most interesting design. I love the fact that you can burn the fuel or just light a candle. Be happy to answer any questions ...
