Up for Auction is this Rare Antique Bisque German Big Open Mouth Old Woman/MaidAshtray Figurine. This is a very interesting ashtray. This old woman has 3 teeth and a large open mouth to catch ashes. She looks as though she is calling out the menu (perhaps she is the maid) or singing from a book (perhaps she is a church lady).I believe she was made in the Dresden area of Germany in the early 1900s. This littlefairing is made of all porcelain and is 4.5 inches tall (11cm). The porcelain is a very delicate porcelain. This Big mouth lady looks to have been repaired along her face. The repair was done well. It is very hard to tell just by looking at it. I tried to capture it on the photos. You can see it better from the photos than in person (I tried to make it more visible).She also has a stain on her white blouse. Originally thesewere sold as very inexpensive trinkets at the five-and-dime store & state fairs. Other than this repair she is still a nice conversational piece or a great piece to add to your collection. Don’t miss this it!
