From a doll estate I am pleased to offer you this 9-1/2" tall bisque head German doll. Incised on the upper back is what looks like "567 4/0". Tag at my purchased says "attributed to J.D.Kestner, 1880s". I do not know her past history or maker (for sure), but will try to describe her the best I can. This is a bisque shoulder head (bald) with solid dome, a little old glue residue from a wig on the top of her head. She has slender bisque hands with fingers intact on hard cloth body. Lower legs are bisque porcelain with painted molded black boots. Legs have painted white stockings with embroidery molded at the top of the stockings. Doll has painted blue eyes with black liner over the eye lids, a WHITE highlight over the black liner (the look of a molded eye lid), single stroke brown brows and closed mouth with accent line through the lips. There is a minor firing flaw under the neck area as shown in photo #6 and #7. Blonde mohair wig shows wear and needs to be re-glued on her head. Doll wears a lovely pink antique dress with embroidered lace accents, dress top is worn and torn, the skirt once had an overlay attached but it is long gone. Dress still displays nicely on doll even though it is not perfect. She wears antique pantaloons that need a button or snap. I have taken plenty of photos, p lease look at my photos as they will serve read more
