I wanted to attribute this extraordinary presentation goblet or wine stem to one of the famous European glass makers, but I awoke in the middle of the night last night and realized I’m just not qualified to do that. I know it came from the estate of a very wealthy Cincinnati, Ohio family, but that’s about all I know. Let’s have a good close look. It stands 9 ¼” tall and sits on a 4” base. The stem is hollow, and the hand painted scene featuring adults and children at harvest time is on the outside of the glass. Is that some great decoration, or what? They have been cutting wheat and putting it in shocks, so they needed to take a break. Condition = Excellent T are no chips, cracks or significant scuffs. Even the gold rim is intact. It has likely been in a closed china cabinet all its life. The photos get a bit cluttery without something white stuck inside the glass, so I’ll take most of the rest of the images after doing just that.
