Antique Blue Glass Insulator From the Abandoned Rail Roads of Western Colorado Beautiful and in Perfect Shape! This is an antique insulator that was used on the power lines that followed the rail road from Grand Junction to the ancient mines of Leadville, traveling through the famous Glenwood Canyon! These types of power wire insulators have been obsolete for decades, but t has never been a financially viable reason for the rail companies to haul the power lines and poles and insulators out of the canyon. The radiant blue-green glass makes a statement all it's own when placed in a position w the sun is allowed to shine through it, and harkens ones thoughts back to the times when these little glass pyramids fulfilled a job that only they were capable of. The valuable role that they played in the taming of the American West is inestimable. The writing on the bottom of the insulator states: "HEMINGRAY" and "No. 40". Please take a close look at the quality of this item, t are no chips, cracks or weakened places anyw on it. Measurements: âe¢ 3.75" tall âe¢ 3.5" wide at the base Please email me with any questions before bidding as eBay considers a confirmed bid as a binding contract .
