Check out my other items ! *PRODUCT: Blue padre trade beads. The strand is 24 1/2" long bead to bead. T are approximately 100 beads on each strand. The average bead diameter is 10mm. The word "padre" as used for these beads is a misnomer. It is a nickname given to the bead long before I started selling them. The beads are a mixture of Venetian wound beads and European prosser beads, and maybe some Chinese beads. About 1836 the Prosser brothers invented a machine to make buttons. About 1840 the prosser button machine was re-invented to make beads. White and blue prossers were on the Northern Plains before 1887. Red and yellow padres made their appearance after that.
