UNUSUAL ANTIQUE BLUE & WHITE TRANSFER WARE DISH MALMESBURY ABBEY WILTSHIRE Circa 1840 This unusual ANTIQUE BLUE & WHITE TRANSFER PRINTED DISH, with PINEAPPLE BORDER, dates from circa 1840. It bears the printed name MALMESBURY ABBEY WILTSHIRE on the back. The DISH measures approximately 11.25 inches (28.5 cm) by 10.25 inches (26 cm) and stands approximately 2 inches (5 cm) high. The pattern is illustrated in Coysh & Henrywood's Blue & White Printed Pottery Vol. 1 Page 234. One of the curlicues which forms the handle has been broken off many years ago (please see photograph). There is some grazing to the glaze on the highpoints and the edge. There are no cracks or restoration. If you have any questions please ask.
