I found this little gem in a local estate sale. It is a nice antique marked piece of Wedgwood, in the form of a lidded box for a match safe. I was going to clean it but decided to leave it alone since it bears signs of its use for matches. The inside of the lid has scored striations for striking the matches. The color is blue and white. The lid has a detailed classical scene of soldiers surrounded by a floral edging. The base has scenes with putti or cupids on either end. Unfortunately t is one small flake off the rim on one end. Please see photos to judge condition. The box measures 3 7/8" long x 2" wide x 7/8" tall.It is marked by impressed "WEDGWOOD", "ENGLAND", and a circle with a diagonal line through it.Photos: Shipping : US shipping for this item will be by Priority Mail.
