Classic antique Wild Rose pattern transferware staffordshire platter. Platter measures 13 inches long by 10 1/2 inches wide and sits 1 1/4 inches high. This pattern was extremely popular from 1830 to about 1850 and used extensively by blue and white potters. The main scene is of Nuneham Park, at Nuneham Courtenay just outside Oxford, England and landscaped by Capability Brown around 1780. This platter is in remarkable condition for its age and definitely shows loving use as depicted in photos. Only maker mark being an incised number crown.
