THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE BOHEMIAN VICTORIAN ROSE CUT GARNET LATE 1800'S EARRINGS.THE GARNET'S ARE ALL PRESENT. GREAT DEEP WINE/RED COLORING. ALL PRONG'S ARE STRONG.WONDERFUL ROSE CUT GARNET'S SET IN A PRONG SETTING. The major source of garnet gems from the renaissance through the victorian era were the "BOHEMIAN" pyrope deposits in the vicinity of Trebenice, Czechoslovaka thus the name "BOHEMIAN GARNET". During the 1800's the appearance of Bohemian garnet jewelry achived it's characteristic design where the garnet dominated it metal settings. This set was purchased by me over 16 years ago as a set. The earrings are two layers of Bohemian victorian garnets and are screw on and they work very well. The earrings about 1/4" across with the same silver backing. THIS IS AN AMAZING SET OF 1800'S BOHEMIAN VICTORIAN GARNET JEWELRY. THIS IS GREAT SET TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION OR TO GIVE HAS A GIFT.
