This beautiful necklace is in very good condition for its age: delicate,light weight, and unmarked. Necklace isshiny yellow gold. It has a 17 1/2 inch chain without pendant and tassels. Pendant is 5/8 inch long and the 2 tassels are 1 inch long. Book links are ¼ x ¼ inch wide and marked with an “X” on both sides. A slide in clasp fits securely into the front medallion. Clasp works properly. Cameo is white in color on a pronged stone base. CONDITION: I am not knowledgeable about jewelry. This piece has been in the family for over 100 years. I believe it was my grandmother’s who was born in 1900. I have never seen it worn nor have I worn it. It has been in my jewelry box for over 50 years. It seems to be in remarkable condition for its age with little wear to the gold and no evidence of old repair. There is no visible damage to any links, clasp, cameo or tassels. There is minor scratching and several tiny dents on the back of the medallion. Please ask question if you would like more information.
