You are bidding on a collection of victorian bookbinding tools. This collection is from the late 19th century with some of the tools being possibly older. There are a total of 108 pieces . Three of the knives are carved with the intials " E. Craig ". The only Craig I could find relating to bookbinding was Edward Gordon Craig. He was famous for books about theatre. The large letter set is 9 mm with the age of the handles looks to be 18th century, but not sure. The other letter set is 7mm. Both letter sets are missing the w, I assume the M is reversible.There is a number set (6 is reversible for 9), decorative tools, music clef, quotation mark, exclamation mark and much much more. I tried to show all the items in the pictures. I found on "Christies Auction" a similar collection with 186 pieces sold for $5600. This is difinitely a one of a kind collection! !
