R & R up for bid is a piece of a large collection that I will be selling over the next few days. This one is a brass fairy that measures approx 9-1/2" in length. It is in fantastic collectible condition. Each piece that I am listing has been written down in a small memo book starting in 1935 w it was bought and sometimes how much was paid. This particular one is listed as an OLD letter opener in her memo. It was purchased in 1945, so I am assuming that it is from the 19th century, or possibly the early 20th century. She paid $3.75 for this one. For each one that I can place with the memo, I will take a picture of the memo also so you can see what was written about it. This was from an elderly lady, and as she got older, her hand writing was not as ledgeable, so please bare with me. This is a great collection for someone so lucky to acquire.
