This is a beautiful Antique Compass French Drafting Set made of brass and steel construction. This set is in Beautiful condition. The purple velvet padded box is in very good condition. The set features various types of compasses arms and endings to fit a wide variety of drafting needs. Back of wooden box has France tag and inscription that I would guess is the original owners name. Many years ago I was a draftsman and never have seen anything quite like this. Very well preserved for its age!! Would estimate to be from mid-late 19th century possibly older. Have been advised due to the small size this was same type of drafting kit that would have been used by Military Engineers. Dimensions: Length is 6". Width is 3.25".Height is 3/4" Even though I use to use similar old tools like this I am not a collector of these type of items so please ask questions.
