Antique brass lens Petzval -Darlot - Benjamin French & co - vintage projection lens - Film photography This is a Darlot gem type petzval Brass Lens. About 3 1/2" tall, 2" in diameter. The barrel is engraved "B F & Co" (Benjamin French & co) and was made by Darlot in Paris, France at the end of the 1800's. Benjamin French was Darlot's exclusive US importer. These also have a small internal restrictor ring which makes it about f5 as is. If you can rid of the ring, around f4.something. I have seen photos taken with the same Darlot, and it gave an excellent image. If you are craving a Darlot petzval, this is the one you need. The lens is in great condition for it's age. A great vintage brass lens to give your images a fantastic vintage feel, whether on large format or digital! Get the lovely "swirly" bokeh that the Petzval lenses are known for! Made in FRANCE
