This is one beautiful in excellent condition very old micriscope. All lenses are clean and clear, including the mirror. No signs of damage, misuse or abuse. All functions work as brand new. This must be from the 18 hundreds. I know very little about antique microscopes as I am a machinist and can tell you this is a machinist's work of art. There is a removable compartment under the table that seems to facilitate some kind of reservoir for lab specimen viewing. It slides in and out on a dovetail. Hopefully the pictures can tell you more than I can. The barrel is engraved in script, E. Hartnack, Place Dauphine,21, Paris. I would love to keep it myself but it is on consignment and so it has to go to a real Scientist, Doctor or some medical instrument collector. Anyhow, thanks for looking and maybe even buying.
