Up for auction is an antique original "PUBLIC SCHOOL CITY OF NEW YORK" solid brass door knob circa early 1900's. This is an oval door knob measuring approx. 2 5/8" by 1 1/2" and has a substantial weight of 8.07 oz. or 226g. T appears to have once been a chrome like finish to the surface which does have the expected signs of wear. I have not attempted to clean it in any way, leaving it in the original condition. The rectangular shaft is intact & still inside the knob....
