This Old Brass Oil Lamp Part measures 6 1/2"H, has a 9" diameter at the wide side, a 5" diameter at the small side, weighs 1 pound and is made of solid brass. There is, however, a narrow silver colored metal ring connecting the curved decorative lip on the wide side. It is made up entirely of non-magnetic metal. On the outside there is a tube that goes through to the inside. The different colors in the pictures above show its appearance in different lighting. This old lamp part appears to be the housing for the reservoir, the lamp font and/or wick assembly or all of the above. The potential decorative applications of this piece are only limited by the imagination. It will look great with a plant in it, would make a great candle holder. It could hold a dish for serving guests and would make a fantastic lamp shade for a desk lamp, directing the light straight up and down. One thing for sure is that with the right collection of lamp parts, if restored, it would be one of the most Beautiful Oil Lamps to be seen! Please note, the inside of this lamp piece has surface oxidation and the outside has a few small dings in the oval decorations between the leaves with a scuff or two here and there.
