This is a very old hand made antique trinket box fashioned out of bronze. It has high relief engraving on all sides and a pebble pattern on the bottom, which also bears the maker's mark "JB." There is a hard lining on the inside. It's about 7 long x4.5 wide x1.5 deep.The scene is a hunting theme with horses and hounds searching for their target. You can see a cathedral in the background, too. My best guess is that it's either French or German. There is one foot on the bottom that looks like it got too hot around it and it's slightly inverted. The box sits crooked on a flat surface. The opposite side of the body on the box doesn't sit flush with the lid. It may have also gotten too hot or been shifted with age and travel.Just thinking about the history of all this box has held and been through is exciting!
