I purchased in Maine at our local auction, 5 large boxes full of antique buttons and I mean some of the most amazing buttons I’ve ever seen….sadly, I don’t know a thing about buttons, so I’m going to do my best at describing them to you but please if I miss something let me know and I’ll be glad to correct / clarify it for you. Condition - again, I am not a button expert but I purged everything that I thought is an imperfection; however I hate to do it because what I think might be an imperfection you may not. Let’s see how the first few listings go, and if you want to give me some suggestions I would love it! This particular listing is for: 100's of BEAUTIFUL antique celluloid and some plastic and maybe vegetable buttons too. I think most of the large grouping are Celluloid…and maybe the big BLACK ones could be even rubber…the large button grouping that looks like tortoise (not the small very detailed ones) look like they’re either a thick celluloid or they’re plastic, I’m so sorry I just don’t know enough to determine, I hope you can with the pictures I've supplied.... I know they’re really old but I can’t tell you exactly how old. I think they’re in great condition especially for being so old….but some (most all) are dirty from just being around so long, and just the small ones mostly in the huge groupings some have metal discoloration on the back, but not much....just imagine finding huge boxes of buttons in an attic, that's about the best way to describe their condition... I purged any with a lot of discoloration or wear but, PLEASE NOTE - THE VEGETABLE? OR CELLULOID GROUPING ON THE RING I DID NOT CHECK EACH ONE OF THEM, I JUST LEFT THEM ALL TOGETHER, SOME MAY BE cracking or CRAZED, ETC....Not sure what to use to clean any of the buttons with, I’ll leave that up to you button experts. So, bottom line, this is an amazing grouping of antique buttons in this lot, but if you're expecting every single one to be perfect then please don't bid on this grouping, but if you don't mind some age related imperfections then I promise you'll love them all......if I forgot to address something please let me know...or if uncertain on condition please ask for clarification prior to bidding. The largest are 1 3/4" - 2" round...SHIPPING - I'll be sending parcel post to save cost, however if in a hurry please change shipping to priority as it could take up to 3-4 weeks for delivery.
