Antique c1824 Minton N Shape Porcelain Tea Cup & Saucer Botanical Pattern 550 A lovely antique cup and saucer set by Minton, hand painted in a beautiful botanical pattern number 550. The cup is made in a graceful N shape with a ribbed body, slightly flared rim and distinctive pointed handle. No marks apart from the pattern number, but the cup is identified in Michael Berthoud's 'An Anthology of British Cups', please see the pictures for more information. This shape was introduced by Minton in 1824. Cup height: 2 3/4" (7cm) Cup diameter: 3" (7.5cm) Saucer diameter: 5 3/4" (14.5cm) Condition: there are cracks both to the cup and saucer, please refer to the photos. This lot is part of a large collection of early 19th century English porcelain that I will be listing over the next weeks. Please check my other auctions for more collectable tea cups.
