This is a superb ANTIQUE CARRIAGE , BUGGY, OR VINTAGE AUTOMOBILE REAR LAMP. In my estimation it dates from around the late 19th Century, circa 1900, but please make up your own mind about this. The lamp measures approx 9 inches ( 230mm) tall and is made from brass throughout. It has a circular red lens and two bevelled glass, clear side lenses. Inside it is complete with its original kerosene or parafin lamp, and it is marked on the front with a Victorian registration number. The burner is marked SHERWOODS SOUND TRADEMARK BIRMINGHAM This is a fine example of its type, in excellent original condition, and it would make a great addition to any collection.
