Antique Carved Red Soapstone Chinese Incised Brush Pot Vase Monkey Antelope 5" This is a 19th to early 20th Century Chinese intricately hand carved brush pot vase. The color is a red with gray and black marbling.This piece is intricately hand carved with a monkey eating fruit and two antelopes (deer?). There is a lot of open work and 3 dimensional carving on this medium sized piece of soapstone. The workmanship is excellent. The vase stands approximately 5" in height by 7" wide and 3" deep. It weighs a approximately 4 pounds.Please view and enlarge all photos to see condition and details. There is one large scratch on the front.
