Antique carved shell cameo brooch...beautiful realistic carving of a BACCHANTE with grape vines in hair. Very delicate detailed carving. Pensive profile. Naturally domed shell with good color contrast and fine polished finish. Solid plain silver mount...unmarked. Old C-clasp. There is a small loop on top back to which a safety chain could be added or another loop to wear as a pendant. Measures 1 13/16" x 1 5/16". All original...excellent!
