This is a very cool rare cast iron golf tee marker. The marker is from the wood shaft golf club era before the wooden golf tee was invented. There is a small compartment on the back of the marker which would have held sand. The sand was used with a sand tee mold to make a tee to stand the ball on to drive it, the spike on the bottom would have been stuck in the ground at the tee box. Late 1800's to early 1900's very good condition with an old lightly pitted surface and original paint. This marker is 12" tall 4 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep.Item ID: 4401
