This unusual antique iron toy mold(dog vs cat on a barrel)consists of two opposite identical halves and it is about 5 1/2" long x 2" tall x 1 1/4" thick when the halves are clamped together. The mold is a heavy duty industrial tool(It weighs about 2 pounds!)and it was made to produce 3 clear candy toy dog vs cat vignettes at a time. The figures that the mold can create would be about 2" long x 2" tall and their bases would be slightly under 3/4" wide. You can see that the the dog & cat are nicely detailed and that the dog is confronting the cat who is on top of a barrel standing off the dog. There is some wear but over all the mold halves are in very good original condition and one side is marked "113" with nicely incised cast-in numerals. Quite old and very decorative! Ca. 1880s-1910s.
