I am listing this bell for a friend of mine. He received the bell from his grandfather. His grandfather said that the bell came from an old country school house in West Central Minnesota. The bell is cast iron and is 24 inches across the bottom of the bell. The height of the bell with the wooden base is 32 inches. Without the base it is 29 inches tall. The width of the yoke is 32 inches. The wheel has a diameter of 18 inches. One side of the bell says "THE C.S. BELL CO 24 HILLSBORO O." The other side of the bell says "NO 24 YOKE" The clapper also has "24" on it. I believe that the bell has the original finish. T are no cracks or chipped areas on the bell. I am guessing that the bell with the yoke weighs about 250 pounds. The only thing that is missing is the nut that connects to the bolt that holds the clapper in place. I am assuming that one could be found at any hardware store. The bell is located in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area and is available for local pickup. The bell can also be delivered for $1.25 per mile (round trip) for up to 400 miles. Payment will be made by either cash or cashier's check at the time of pickup/delivery.
