Up for auction is a beautiful cast iron Star Hay Carrier ( made by Starline ) or hay trolley in very good condition. It is 22" long x 19" tall x 7 1/2" wide. The trolley was already clean when I got it and appears to have been sandblasted and clear coated. The fork pulley has been cleaned and lightly oiled. Both sheaves turn smoothly and work as they should. The sheave on the fork pulley and all 4 trolley wheels turn freely. The top and bottom rotate smoothly and the locking mechanism for the lifting pulley still locks the pulley in place but is missing the piece that goes inside the trolley and trips the lock when it bumps the trip block on the track. As a display piece this missing part will go unnoticed because it is located inside the top half where the trolley wheels are. It slides into the 2 grooves in the middle of pic 8. There are no breaks or repairs. Hay trolleys are a great representation of early life on the farm and are very collectable. Hay trolleys also make unique rustic light fixtures. This one is nice and clean and ready to display or repurpose. US shipments only. Thanks for looking.
