ANTIQUE CHINESE ORNATE SILVER SNUFF SMOKING CHATELAINE THIS AUCTION IS FOR A RARE ANTIQUE ORNATE SILVER CHINESE SNUFF/ SMOKING CHATELAINE. This chatelaine was purchased in England many years ago from a Chinese nobles estate. It is a waist hung chatelaine with the utensils being used for snuff & smoking. Made of silver that is very ornate with Chinese symbols that are also very well detailed. Center of main chatelaine has a small carved cinnabar stone medallion. T are four ornate matching & original utensils to the chatelaine....tweezers...spoon...sword knife...pick. T looks like that t could have originally been another chain attached for a utensil. The complete chatelaine measures approx. 17" long & is very ornate on both the front & back of it. Condition is exceptional & being almost complete. The only slight damage we can see is to the small cinnabar center disk that has a minor edge chip to it. Other than this it is in very good antique condition. It has been professionally tested for silver & tests a strong positive. A very similar Chinese chatelaine is pictured in Genevieve Cummins 'Chatelaines' book. This early rare Chinese chatelaine is being sold with NO RESERVE. Buyer to pay $6.50 S&H.
