A stunning antique crazy quilt with a reversible chintz side! I have never seen a quilt quite like this, but whoever constructed this beautiful textile was very talented. First side of this quilt looks very much like a crazy quilt, many different sizes and shapes of fabrics stitched together. The majority of these pieces are silk and have beautiful florals in arrays of colors that have been stitched together with various sizes and colors of threads! The second side of this quilt is a beautiful deep green chintz with lovely swags and bunches of pink cabbage roses and daisies with lovely scrolls, so romantic!! The entire quilt has a ruffled border in the rosey chintz material which offsets the crazy quilt side beautifully. In the most excellent condition for its age, the chintz side being perfect with no rips, tears, stains or odors, the crazy quilt side having 3 small paneled sections that have some fraying to the material, but not torn, stained and odor free. I did try to photograph the fraying, but could not get a clear picture. Both sides of the quilt are strong and sturdy and the small imperfections on the crazy quilt side only add to this textiles vintage charm and character!
