Antique Civil War Era Gold Jewelry Remembrance Brooch. This lot features a wonderful historical mid 19th century jewelry item, most likely Civil War Era. It has gold metal (not marked, but I believe it is gold. It has not been tested) deep simple designed frame brooch. Inside t is a tin type portrait of a well dressed man of the era. The back of the brooch had a T bar pin. The T and the round loop is present, but the bar is missing. The crystal on the front is beveled and in great condition with tiny surface scratches. No chips, or cracks. Measures 1" wide x 1 1/4" long x 1/4" deep. I do not know how it opens. Most likely the tin type was placed under the crystal. This is authentic and not a reproduction. Wonderful for the Civil War reenactor, or simply a wonderful collectible for your antique jewelry collection. I have seen brooches such as these sell for 100's of dollars. This one is starting at a low bid with no reserve. You can get a true treasure on e-Bay.
