Antique Civil War / Indian Wars Model 1860 Cavalry Sword with Steel Scabbard. The blade has the Emerson & Silver mark on one one side and “U.S. / A.D.K. / 1865" on the other side. Brass hilt with wire-wrapped leather grip. The blade is 35 inches long and the overall length is 41 inches. The blade has a nice patina consistent with its age and is in very good condition, although there are approximately seven small nicks on the cutting edge and some very light surface corrosion in a few places. The leather washer at the base of the blade is present. The hilt is tight and in good condition. The wood grip and wire are 100% intact. The leather is intact other than a small missing piece at the end near the pommel. The scabbard is in good condition, although there is piece missing from the fitting at the top and there are a few small dents. The sword fits nicely into the scabbard.
