Click Images to Enlarge DESCRIPTION ~SUNDAY NIGHT SPECIAL ~ THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION ~ You are bidding on two Antique Historical Collector Plates. This is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty and hard to find on the secondary market and dates back in time. Each piece was beautifully made and marked. The first plate is beautifully designed in black and white transferware pottery. The scene is one of many in the Picturesque Views series. This one depicts the Hudson River Near Fishkill. The linear perspective is a very important aspect of the scene. The plate displays the parrot border that is well known for this series. The rim is both bordered and dimensionally beaded. with nice designs We believe this is from W.G. Walls "Hudson River Portfolio" who is known for pottery. It was made by James & Ralph Clews, Staffordshire, England. This piece dates in the 1800s. It's marked Picturesque Views N. Fishkill Hudson River Plate. The second collector plate is also historical. It's black and white transferware and displays a view of Hartford, Connecticut. It was made by Job and John Jackson. Their pottery facility operated in the 1800s. This piece was marked Jacksons Warranted Hartford Connecticut. read more
