It has occured to me that perhaps these are OLDER than I think---t is a stamp --but it is on an applied leather half sole--perhaps these were made somew other than San Francisco, and worn to that city from another place/country--then half soled by PKelly of SF?just speculation....they do say "maker" I read that only after about the 1850s were shoes made with a right and left sole designation (which these do have)--also read somew the fashion of the 1880s was elongated, with a squared toe--, perhaps pointing to the age/era of this pair?I would say Edwardian as opposed to Victorian, I tried to gleen info as to the maker and a casual search turned up nothing--they are stamped P Kelly SF maker on the soles--only decipherable using a loupe. Inside is lined with the most exquisite linen, or flax-linen type material. Leather is sort of yellowish colored (also unusual--pointing AWAY form Victorian!) and still supple! I could wear these, but of course will not--however just for the fun I could not resist posing ti display-- for your eyes only--no charge for the humor:-)it's "on the house"--(on my feet, actually)-these actually fit me pretty read more
