These magnificent antique bouillon sets were made for Tiffany & Co. by Coalport in the late 1800s to early 1900s -- in an age when an exquisitely set table was not merely a thing of beauty to behold, but also a mark of status and refinement. Both Coalport and Tiffany catered to a wealthy, upper-crust clientele. You can just imagine the grand affairs at which this formal dinnerware was likely used. This 16-piece lot includes 8 bouillon cups (they may also have been used for cream soup service) and 8 matching saucers. The three colors used in the set's pattern are white, cream and a deep pink. The cream and pink bands are encrusted with gold. The double handles of the cups are gold, t is a gold verge on the cups and saucers, and t is a gold band just above the bottom rim of the cups and around the rim of the cup well on the saucers. The condition is excellent -- t are no cracks, chips, nicks, stains or repairs on any of the 16 pieces. T is no wear to the encrusted gold and no wear to the gold on the cup handles. Some of the pieces have some wear to the gold inner bands, and some of the pieces have fine glaze crazing. The cups measure about 3-1/2" in diameter, about 5-1/4" wide at their widest point (including the handles) and stand about 2-3/4" tall (again, including the handles). The saucers measure 5-1/2" in diameter and stand 3/4 read more
