Volumes I & II Commentary On The Holy Bible books-Henry & Scott-Leather Bound-"In Two Volumes with Engravings" (as printed on both book inside pages) Vol. I I find no dates in this book from what I can see, published in London by the Religious Tract Society, works by Henry and Scott. NEW YORK: ROBERT MARTIN Vol. II I find "NEW YORK: MARTIN AND JOHNSON 1955," published in London by the Religious Tract Society, works by Henry and Scott Both books have water damage to the inside pages. The photo that shows the worst damage is basically the same as for both books (which is on the first inside open page and the last inside page at the end of the books); however, the water damage tafter is not nearly what it appears as in that particular photo Volume I has more water damage than Volume II. In Volume II, after the first 6 or so pages, I find no water damage (except for the last inside page, as already mentioned) Volume II has water damage near the bottom of the inside pages mostly throughout but it is not really bad (and a few other areas on the inside pages but only a few pages and not bad) Both books do have some wear to the leather but not bad at all Bindings are secure but the boards are starting to come away from the inside pages some. Boards are straight. With some surprise, t are no gross odors The only writing that I find is a small area on the second inside pages neatly written in pencil Measures approximately 9 inches by 10.5 inches with 949 pages.
