This is an antique 'compartment' ring, with a cap on a safety chain. The compartment looks to be the entirety of the ring body, but it's hard to determine without putting something in it. Could have been used for snuff, poison, perfume, or anything else that could be dropped in the hole. It is unmarked, so I can't tell if it is sterling silver or some other metal. The stone on top looks like a round, robin's egg blue turquoise. The ring is size 6 1/4. This item comes from an old estate collection that dates back to before the 20th century and goes up until the mid 1950s.
